CAROL BOBOLTS

founding principal/creative director | Working from Northern Michigan

Carol wanted to be a graphic designer even before she knew what the job was called. She brings over 30 years of enthusiasm as a creative to Red Herring, producing award-winning work for a diverse roster of clients. Prior to founding Red Herring , Carol worked for Atlantic Records as the art director responsible for Elektra Records packaging, merchandising and advertising. She was also with the renowned design firm Pushpin Lubalin Peckolick and The Design Center of The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, where she earned her BFA. Red Herring’s work has received awards from The Art Director’s Clubs of New York and Los Angeles, The Type Director’s Club, The Society of Publication Designers, AIGA, Print, Graphis, and Communication Arts, and is in the permanent collection of the Quatrimes Recontres Internationales des Arts Graphiques de Chaumont (France). The work of the firm has been nominated three times by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences for a Grammy Award for Best Package Design. After 35 years of living in New York City, Carol is now working from her childhood home. With Lake Huron in her backyard, she is happiest when wet.

 
 

ANDREA DUARTE

senior visual designer/art director | Working from San Antonio, Texas

A native Michigander, Andrea graduated from Western Michigan University with a BFA in Graphic Design before moving to Brooklyn in 2000 to work with Red Herring Design. With a passion for photography and culinary arts, Andrea found a perfect match with Culture cheese magazine and served as lead designer throughout their rebranding. Currently residing in San Antonio with her family, Andrea enjoys exploring South Texas cuisine one taco at a time.

 
 

JEN QUINN

senior visual designer / art director / strategist | Working from Detroit, Michigan

As a child, Jen would spend hours outdoors, climbing trees and peeking under rocks, fascinated by the textures, shapes and colors of the snails, flowers and lizards outside of her Florida home. Over time, this appreciation for beautiful design drove her to create in all realms of visual communication, including branding, web design, social media and advertising–all while taking inspiration from the world around her. Since joining Red Herring in 2014, Jen has collaborated with dozens of brands to hone storytelling and develop engaging branding and promotions. After 12 years in NYC, Jen has relocated to the midwest. In her spare time, Jen loves to hike, garden, or play chef and mixologist in her Detroit, Michigan home.

Dana glomski

designer/motion graphics | Working from Hubbard Lake, Michigan

Country girl moved from the land of no internet to the city to pursue her passion in the arts. Graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree from the College for Creative Studies with a major in Advertising Design and a minor in photography, she joined team Red Herring in 2021. You can always catch Dana with her head in a new book or talking to wild animals in her spare time. Dana is willing to challenge the world, embrace the weird all around her, and let it push her creativity even further.
